Artist's Description

The Lower Sunday River School is an historic school on Sunday River Road, just north of its junction with Skiway Road, in Newry, Maine. Built in 1895 by the town, this is one of the best-preserved one-room schoolhouses in northern Oxford County.
The school is a 1-1/2 story wood frame structure, with a clapboarded exterior and a gable roof, and rests on a granite foundation. A single brick chimney pierces the roof, and a small ell, containing a passage and two privies. There are no windows in the south and east walls, and a bank of four sash windows in the north wall. About Guy Whiteley

Guy Whiteley

I was raised in northern New York State before joining the US Navy where I became drawn to the technical aspects of film photography. During my travels I learned composition techniques, developing, and printing from serious amateurs and professionals. I eventually became more interested in the artistic side of this hobby and continued to explore more creative aspects. My interests focus (no pun intended) on the out-of-doors beauty of our world, both natural and man-made. I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I have enjoyed capturing them.
