Field, British Columbia. A town of about 300 people tucked away in the Rockies on the Kicking Horse River, about 15 miles west of Lake Louise. During my visit to Calgary, I had intended on driving further into BC, but weather reports were predicting avalanches along the Trans-Canada Highway. A quick stop in Field for lunch qualified crossing off BC on my bucket list.
I was raised in northern New York State before joining the US Navy where I became drawn to the technical aspects of film photography. During my travels I learned composition techniques, developing, and printing from serious amateurs and professionals. I eventually became more interested in the artistic side of this hobby and continued to explore more creative aspects. My interests focus (no pun intended) on the out-of-doors beauty of our world, both natural and man-made. I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I have enjoyed capturing them.
