Description
The Steeple 1892. The surviving steeple once standing tall above a church that at times since its construction in the mid-1920s, functioned as a Baptist Church, Temple Emanu-el for a Jewish congregation, Scottish Rite Masons, Methodists, and finally Korean United Methodists before they abandoned it in 2005. An arson fire caused an estimated $250,000 damage in April 2012. Preservationists failed to save the main building, but the demolition company bought the land to save the spire from a wrecking ball. Now they plan to incorporate the soaring structure into a housing project on the site at Colvin and Tacoma in Buffalo.
