One of the very last images captured by my favorite Nikon lens, just moments before a (very) strong gust of wind blew my tripod mounted camera into a nose-dive and killed it. Tree shot at Chippawa Battlefield near Niagara Falls, Ontario. Conversion to b/w in SilverEfexPro, sharpening and noise reduction in Lightroom3.

I was raised in northern New York State before joining the US Navy where I became drawn to the technical aspects of film photography. During my travels I learned composition techniques, developing, and printing from serious amateurs and professionals. I eventually became more interested in the artistic side of this hobby and continued to explore more creative aspects. My interests focus (no pun intended) on the out-of-doors beauty of our world, both natural and man-made. I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I have enjoyed capturing them.
